  1. Swanage is to be found in Dorset in an area known as the Isle of Purbeck (which is not really an island). It is situated in a sweeping half circle of a bay, so it can be regarded as between two headlands, Old Harry Rocks and Ballard Down being at one end. It is an old-fashioned holiday resort with a pier. On a clear day the Isle of Wight can be seen from Swanage. Inland from it is Corfe Castle. To the east is Studland, Poole Harbour and Bournemouth. To the west is some of the most stunning coastal scenery you could ever hope to see. There are very few settlements until you get to Lulworth Cove. This whole coastline is part of the World Heritage Site Jurassic Coast. Get back to me if you want to know more.
