    Pros: Good climate Excellent rail/road links to London and the rest of the country. Handy regional airport. Ferry Terminals to Isle of Wight. Close to pleasant Hampshire countryside (including New Forest) Some nice areas. Good local radio Some night life Cons: A fairly "bland" city. Some grotty areas. A long way to travel, if you have relatives in the North. Parking Traffic congestion Some trouble in the night spots.
