where would be best to stay in sussex martello beach pevensey bay or chichester?

Im going to sussex for a weeks hol with my 10 year old son and not sure where to stay the only availability i an get is on martello holiday park pevensey bay or lakeside hol park chichester was just wondering which place has more to do. i wont have a car so will be relying on public transport

    Chichester is the best for public transport. Trains to and from London Victoria, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, Portsmouth Harbour for the Isle of Wight etc Buses to many other parts of West Sussex too from the bus station opposite the railway station But please note Chichester is near the coast. Not on it www.southernrailway.com www.traveline.info (buses) There is a rail station at Pevensey (Pevensey and Westham) Trains to Eastbourne, Brighton, Hastings and London Victoria
