when is the best time to visit Isle of wight?

I am base in London and planning on a short break to isle of wight. is the island worth visiting or is there any other recommendation?
so you reckon anytime after 8th august would be good. how about early september? Do you think 3 days 2 nights will be enough. thanks sexxxx on legssss

    It is a relative small island, with a good bus system, but it takes a whole day to do a coastal tour around the island by bus, that does not leave you any time to stop off and visit things. You can of course bring your own car (the ferries are as expensive as those to France,) driving the small and winding roads. If you do not feel a compulsion to see all of the island, 3 days will give you a good taste. I loved it there, it is like using a time machine, back to the England of the 1950's.

    Not now, or before the 8th of august, all the hotels etc will be full as it is cowes week, (very big sailing event) and they charge lots of money to stay, anytime in august is really nice down here.
