Its not that big so any hotel or b&b should be OK.

if you are looking for a lively holiday then sandown would be your best bet it being the islands main tourist spot but if you want things a little quieter then shanklyn is better

Shanklin is nice, a bit quieter than Sandown, but is still near lots of different activities.

    Hello Oris,

I love the I O W, it’s such a lovely place. I think it may depend on your age. But i loved Ventnor. It has a lovely little beach, a lovely little seaside town. You can collect tiny little bits of pretty glass on the beach. There are also lovely gardens to visit and walks along the cliff with another lovely little sandy beach. Its a lush place, anywhere on the island. Hope you have a lovely time 🙂

My 80 yr old uncle goes there as his old mate lives in Shanklin and hes 84. Its ok for him so unless it for a one day visit or a music festival cowes week sailing forget it, if its just ok for a wrinkly you’ll never get me there unless I’m dropping him off

When I was little we used to stay in Seaview: pretty, nice beaches, sailing, plenty of B&Bs and the Seaview Hotel has an excellent restaurant. Bright lights of Ryde are just up the coast. (Avoid Regatta Week like the plague, though, when the noisy hoorays seem to descend in force!)
