I have booked a holiday to go to the Isle of Wight, but my passport has ran out. Do I need to renew it to go to the Isle of Wight, or do we not need it?

No you do not require a passport to travel to the Isle of Wight from the U.K.
If part of your journey involves an internal flight, you will require phographic ID or a passport if flying by Ryan Air
No ID is required for train/ferry travel to the island

not if you are going from mainland UK! If you are sailing there from Monte Carlo, then yes

No need for a passport. You just buy your ticket (on-line, if you wish). If you are in a car, you show your ticket and will be guided to the right lane and waved on board. If you are foot, you just show your ticket.

If you’re in the UK you only need photo ID for domestic flights, except for Ryanair which plays awkward.
For the ferry you just buy a ticket and get on.
I recommend the route from Lymmington to Yarmouth as being the most scenic. It takes 35 minutes for the trip, with a short journey down the river and then onto the open water.
Here it is coming back in 35 seconds instead of 35 minutes.

The Isle of Wight is off the coast of Hampshire which it used to be a part of but it’s now a county administered by an island council, and there are 33 parish councils on the island. It’s a relaxing, laid-back island with a great dino museum which is worth a visit.

Not if your going by boat. My second cousin and I took a boat to the Isle of Wight, and all we needed was money to get their stay there, and come back. I’m not sure about plane, hopefully other people will answer that, but I’ve never flown there. Shouldn’t think so.

I am also confused about the two thumbs down that I have received.
