Is it possible to see Brighton from the Isle of Wight?

My cousion says if you look carefully on a clear day you can see Eastbourne. Is it possible to see Brighton or Eastborune from the Isle of Wight?
It can be seen from high points in Brighton on a clear day actually. Managed to see it myself.

    No you can't really see...but you can estimate the direction only.....It cannot be seen from Brighton as it is 50 miles west of Brighton, and the IOW from Brighton would be hidden behind Selsy point.
