I just wondered due to it being the highest point on the Isle of Wight. I’m studying geography at uni. Anyone know? Serious answers appreciated.
Can you also see Beachy head in Eastbourne?

  1. Well....Brighton is about 80 miles away......by road anyway, possibly about 60 miles as the crow flies, but somehow, I wouldn't think so.

    Hi Jack

The highest point on the Isle of Wight is at St Boniface down at Ventnor just like you have said. This is on the South East coast of the Island. Brighton is about 45 miles, so if you look across the Solent toward Selsey Bill, which is ENE and follow your eye line in a straight line you will then see Brighton. Choose a nice clear day. Happy hunting.
