Hi everyone,
next bank holiday my boyfriend and I will go to isle of Wight.
It is not easy to find a travel guide about it so…do you have any suggestions? What to see? Where can we eat?
I would like to eat some good fish but I also so not want to spend a fortune.
Thanks for your help.

I am not looking for a fish and cheaps!
I am italian and I love eating great food ( not because I am italian, just because I love it!!!!) SO, I am looking for restaurant where the fish is fresh, not fried…pure fish restaurant…

  1. I live on the Island and am quite unsure of fresh fish and chip shops. There's a restaurant called 'The loaves and Fishes' which I would presume has fresh fish, although never visited myself. However that's in the Rookley area which doesn't really have any places of interest that I know of. My favourite fish and chip shop is probably Alexanders which is in Ryde. I wouldn't think it's too hard to find travel guides about the IOW. There are many tourist shops here (however possibly closed on bank holiday?). Not sure what you're into. If you're older you'd probably prefer the views, walks, scenary and that. Shanklin Old Village, Osbourne House, Carisbrooke Castle, Yaverland, The Needles. Many different walks routes to choose from too, mainly along coastal paths. If you are younger you may prefer things like Blackgang Chine, Robin Hill, Sandown Zoo, Dinasour Isle, Sandown Pier. Obviously the beaches are likely to be packed on bank holiday (weather permitting). Not sure on the best beach. Sandowns quite clean and very busy but if you walk along a bit its towards Lake/Shanklin it's less quiet and probably cleaner. Also nice for walking along as you can go up the cliff and walk along there too. Don't be afraid to ask anyone here though as the locals are very friendly and always willing to help! Hope you have a nice time

Ive been there couple of times, there’s loads of sandy beachs, arcades, a nice zoo, Osbourne House, the Needles, and the island is so small you could easily visit all of it in a day, there’s trains that go around the whole island

I’ve been 16 times (honest!) and have yet to find a decent fish n’ chip shop. I like the east side of the island best. It’s a lovely, calm island. They’re about 30 years behind, but it makes a wonderful break from city life.
