Music Question- Metal V.s….?

Ok so I have a friend who listens to nothing but metal like Iron Maiden who I think are alright but get ld quickly.. He refuses to accept that there are better musicians out there.. maybe because he’s only 14 .. same with me .. but I listen to a lot of stuff like Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Dire Straits, you name a classic rock band and i’l tell you some history on them.. anyways I showed him a john bonham drum solo and a Buddy Rich drum solo and he sent me a link to some metal player who just bashed the drums mindlessly with noise… and said ” he plays so much faster” we’re both guitar players… he thinks that Mark Knopfler is the worst guitar player ever… Eric Clapton is an overrated blues player who pretends he’s good and that Stevie Ray Vaughan tries to play twangy and is a hillbilly who wishes he was in Iron Maiden… How do I convince him that there is more out there… I don’t know, maybe you just can’t argue with idiots.. cuz they bring you down to there level and win. somehow
Well I’ve already tried Niel Pert he thinks he can play drums better and for Van Halen he like hot for teacher but still thinks that it isn’t “heavy enough”
Oh and for Kieth Moon he just strait up won’t play the who… I don’t know why.. probably heard a little too much Babba ‘O Riley and he’s heard Eruption.. everyone has…I know it … it’s way easier than it sounds… it’s a little over rated

Wow you guys are too fast for me lol and yeah I think it’s just cause they play faster FAIL what a tool hahah you’re so right and uhmm he thinks Slash is sooooo cool I think he’s such a POOOSEER i’ts his image…. And guess what my friend wears The Doors T-shirts.. he only knows one of there songs.. and he says it’s too slow lol I have over 30 doors songs
damn.. againa isle of wight like Young Man blues.. too late. you can’t fool him like that he only thinks it’s metal if there’s over produced heavy barre chords two hand tapped solos with like 40 guitar overdubbs ahhhh kids these days… lol i’m guilty of some of those kid things but at least my music taste is wider than some…. I don’t know a single kid who listens to The Yardbirds
