  1. Queen Victoria was born in Kensington Palace in 1819, and until the death of Prince Albert they lived at Buckingham Palace. The palace was in virtual ruins, the collapse of the sewers contaminated the water supply, Albert caught typhoid and died in 1861 at Osbourne House their private home on the Isle of Wight. From then onwards she lived in seclusion at Windsor Castle for 10 years, Balmoral Castle in Scotland for her holidays, and died in 1901 at Osbourne House.

From Buckingham palace but after Prince Albert died she spent less time there, preferring either Scotland or Osborne Castle on the Isle of Wight.

Later in life she spent most of her time at Balmoral Castle, Osbourn House, and Windsor Castle.

Kensington Palace was where she lived as a child, but she left there when she became Queen and went to live at Buckingham Palace. She also spent time at Windsor Castle. After her marriage to Albert she spent a lot of time at Balmoral in Scotland (she and Albert both had a great admiration for Scotland and all things Scots), and also at Osborne on the Isle of Wight.
