Where is better for a group holiday – Bournemouth or Isle of Wight?

I am planning a group holiday for about 10 people mixed boys and girls we cant afford to go abroad so were i was thinking somewhere not too far so ya not cornwall.
So which has the better nightlife Bournemouth? or Isle of Wight and where in the Isle of Wight?

    Bournemouth is better for nightlife. The Isle of Wight has nice beaches but Bournemouth and Poole have better ones (miles of sand shelving gently into the sea). Of course, you could easily visit the Isle of Wight for the day from there.
